I made a motion before the general membership at the MAY meeting to host a tactical training course on our range. Most of the top shooting schools... Magpul, Blackwater, Suarez, Frontsight, etc... have mobile training divisions. The motion carried. This course is not open to the general public, it is for club members only.
Here is how this will work. This is a two day pistol course. Below you will find a link to Suarez's product page for this course so you can see the details. It ordinarily runs $350.00. We are getting it for $280.00.
The course will be held the 2nd weekend of August... August 14th-15th. I wanted it held sometime in July or August because a venue in Florence is hosting Suarez's "0-5 feet" course in September. This is an advanced level Force On Force (FOF) course taught by Gabe Suarez himself. It requires one of Suarez's Intermediate level courses as a prerequisite... like the CRG course we are offering on our range. This means, if you are interested in the "0-5 ft" course, but haven't yet taken a Suarez course and therefore would not be able to attend, you now will fulfill the prerequisite requirements for this and all other Suarez advanced level courses you may be interested in taking in the future.
So, how do you go about signing up and paying for this course? When you make the decision that you are ready to commit to taking the course, just email me at clearyjohnp@qmail.com, and your name will go on the list. Once we have 10 people, we will all start calling in to Suarez and officially filling the slots. Right now it is a course with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15 students. I have received many emails from Club members without publishing any information out to the membership. So, as of right now, while I am just hoping for the minimum of 10... it can quickly turn into a stand by waiting list. Please do not procrastinate if you plan on taking this course.
This is the first time we're doing this... expect some bumps. I would like for this to be the beginning of a tradition of Palmetto Gun Club hosting world class tactical training right here in the low country. In order for that to happen, we need to hold this class, and we need it to go well. So, all hands on deck. Put some thought into it and let me know when you are ready to pull the trigger.
